All it takes is a cut-back here, and overcrowding there, and wah-la!  Your corporate dividends just grow and grow.  So does Corrections Corporation of America, the nation’s largest, and most successful, private prison company.  How much profit can a prison wring out of the state it’s operating in?  We’ve just learned.  The CCA operates a total of 67 prison facilities throughout the United States, with a total capacity of 92,500 beds in 20 states and the District of Columbia.
