Illinois prisons cannot hold all 50,000 inmates, so common sense better reign.
Fifty THOUSAND inmates in a state prison system? Illinois had beds for only 33,000 (only?) but has imprisoned 50,000. Not surprisingly, Illinois taxpayers are paying a private health care company more than $1.3 billion over ten years to provide care for inmates in prisons. Maybe those taxpayers should become voters and get rid of private prisons, and reduce minor crimes to fines/rehabilitation instead of expensive warehousing.
