Danbury inmate released from 15-year cocaine sentence on technicality; original judge led efforts because he hated the required maximum sentencing.
Denise Dellaire was released from a Rhode Island prison, after her sentencing judge re-found her in a Danbury prison, doing 15 years for hitting the mandatory sentencing guidelines–that were overturned in 2005. She was able to spend the last 11 days of her mother’s life by her bedside, and the judge was able to sleep better, calling the original sentence “bone-crushing.”
